Who we are and what we do ?

We are The Order of United Commercial Travelers of America, commonly referred to as A.C.T. / UCT.
We are a not for profit fraternal insurance society, dedicated to serving our members, their
families and their communities for more than a century.

Founded in 1888 by traveling salesmen, A.C.T. / UCT has more than 165,000 men and women
members in the United States and Canada.

A.C.T. / UCT's founding fathers started the Order "to give all moral and material aid within its power to its members and those dependent upon them."

We now extend our welcome to all people and their families, friends and business associates
who are 18 years or older and of good character. It's no longer necessary that you be a
commercial traveler.

Experience Our Difference....

A.C.T. / UCT is a dynamic organization that offers something for everyone. Getting needed and wanted insurance benefits is important.
That goes without saying. But a membership in A.C.T. / UCT also provides the opportunity to give something back to society by joining an international community-oriented organization.

A.C.T. / UCT is a family-oriented organization. We recognize the vitality that needs to be
preserved by family togetherness. Our 540 local councils are aware of changing lifestyles and sponsor a wide variety of activities to suit different tastes and schedules.
A.C.T. / UCT is a community-conscious organization. The Order is composed of members
who are acutely aware of their responsibility to their communities. A.C.T. / UCT sponsors safety poster contests, youth and adult sports programs, cancer education, drug awareness, Junior Golf
tournaments, parades and Cub, Girl and Boy Scout troops, to name a few.

A.C.T. / UCT is a proven philanthropic organization. A.C.T. / UCT has a 35-year commitment to people with mental retardation.
The Order has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Special Olympics and other programs and projects to benefit people with mental retardation.
Also, more than $3 million has been spent providing scholarships to those who work with people with mental retardation or who aspire to do so. In addition, A.C.T. / UCT has supported food drives, United Way activities and aid to the homeless.

Why settle for anything less?

Yes, there's a lot more than just paying dues in a fraternal benefit society, particularly when it's A.C.T. / UCT. Join us and find out how much we offer.

What’s in a name.......... ?

The Associated Canadian Travelers had been in operation for 75 years, when it combined forces with the UCT-United Commercial Travelers of America in 1993. This adjustment took place to keep the A.C.T. running strong within Canada, but it is still important for new membership. The more people that come out and donate a few hours of time a month give the organization a better chance to help those in need.
There are a lot of charities that need help and it is the goal of the A.C.T. / UCT to give all the available help possible.
